Bikes in Namibia

Our friends in Namibia write...

Hi Sodge,

It has been ages since I wrote, but have finally got around to sending you some photos of various recipients of the last batch of t-shirts you donated to BEN Namibia. We distributed the adult sizes to all our Bicycle Empowerment Centre mechanics (over 100 people) during a series of business refresher trainings last year.

New Eco Dryer

Announcing the purchase and installation of our new dryer... it is gas fired and designed for reducing our carbon footprint.

Just think... all your printed T-shirts will pass through this conveyor!

Here is my old band T shirt and story...

Some mates and I set up a t shirt printing company in 1977, designing and hand printing punk rock inspired t shirts; X Ray Specs, The Clash, the Pistols all become our clients and inspiration, but The Jam were always my favourite.

I was seriously in love with Paul Weller. We printed several runs of this Jam ‘In the City’ design, and I ended up with this ‘special’ one with the red trim. We went to see them in Aylesbury one night, and of course I wore the ‘special’ one.

Old Band shirts to work...

If you havent had a chance yet, do check out BBC Radio 6 "Wear your Old Band T shirt To Work Day"...Lots of great prints and memories recorded here.

Follow this link to one of my favourites, that we printed way back in the 80s, it wasnt actually for the Clash but for thr Nicarague Solidarity Campaign...which I am pleased to say is still going strong!

Soil Association Organic T-shirt printing

We are very happy to tell you that we have achieved a Soil Association Accreditation!

This means we are able not only to supply an organic T-shirt, but also to print it with organic inks that have the Soil Association Accreditation.

Alma Street Summer Fair 2011

The Alma Street Summer Fair was, once again, a huge success and great fun. Fifth Column were there in the form of Cat and Sodge. We sold T-shirts and ran a T shirt printing workshop for kids. All proceeds went to the Alma Street summer fair 2012. If you missed it dont miss it next year. Big thanks to Dan for your help...would have struggled without you!
