We came across this piece from the Camden New Journal 1980, when Fifth Column was in its infancy. Sodge, Pedro, Chris and our designer Robin were busy designing and printing at all hours...doing everything by hand. We are talking pre computer days here, when all the artwork was done on PAPER and then photographed or cut with ruby film to make the positives to expose onto the screens. All the shirts were printed by hand...one colour at a time...the ink had to dry between each colour...and everything registered by eye. The seal the colours we used to go to the local laundrette on Kilburn High Road and chuck the shirts in the tumble drier for half an hour...Bygone days!!!
